Senior Full Stack Engineer

ABOUT UNIVA

Founded in 2024, Univa is on a mission to address the devastating impact of eating disorder conditions on the individual as well as their families by creating solutions that sustainably reduce the condition’s morbidity and mortality rates worldwide.

Our vision is to build and validate the best outcome-focused eating disorder solution that empowers healthcare systems to sustainably deliver exceptional care.

Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of all mental illnesses. Over 30 million people in the US and 7m people in the UK will experience an eating disorder in their lifetime and latest figures suggest 1 in 5 children worldwide are at risk of developing an eating disorder such as bulimia, anorexia, or binge eating. Over the last 5 years there has been a 121% and 84% increase in eating disorder hospital admissions in the US and UK respectively, with hospital stays commonly lasting between 3 and 4 months.

Eating disorder services today are largely inaccessible, overburdened, costly and significantly struggle in delivering a high quality service and acceptable outcomes for individuals and their families. New effective tools for healthcare teams to better manage, monitor and treat eating disorders are desperately needed.

We are passionately and diligently working with all stakeholders to solve the eating disorder system crisis. With our solutions that transform healthcare systems, we are paving the way for a universal healthcare structure that enables anyone, anywhere, from any socioeconomic background to access high quality eating disorders care when they need it and through a channel they want to access it.

The co-founders of Univa, Rich Andrews and Jose Santos, are experienced entrepreneurs who have successfully developed and implemented solutions that combine technology with clinical science and data in solving significant healthcare pain points.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative company that is revolutionising how eating disorders care is delivered. We believe what’s integral to the success of Univa is creating a supportive, diverse and empowered team that is constantly curious and courageous in their work. A team with unwavering energy and passion that faces challenges in pursuit of doing what is right for transforming a healthcare system that is fit for tomorrow’s society.

We are looking for outstanding candidates who are ready to be part of an early stage company that is at the cutting edge of change within the health sector. Joining the Univa team gives you the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people impacted by eating disorders all while achieving your career ambitions.

HOW DO WE WORK?

Working under a hybrid work culture really works for us. What matters most is that our team feels supported, motivated, organised, and trusted to get things done.

Remote work doesn’t mean we’re disconnected! We chat constantly—our growth is built on an ongoing conversation among people, processes, and ideas. With Slack, JIRA, Confluence, Google Meet, and more, we stay connected, transparent, and on track every day. Whether you’re working from your home office, a coworking space, or company HQ, it doesn’t matter if you’re suited up or rocking jogging bottoms and sneakers.

That said, we’ve learned the importance of getting out of the house now and then. With homes in Córdoba and London, nothing beats those two or three days in the office each week for real face time—catching up, building relationships, sharing off-topic laughs, or unwinding with music and arcade games. It’s the perfect balance, letting us stay connected in all the best ways.

ABOUT UNIVA

At Univa, we’re redefining how eating disorder care is delivered and experienced.

Founded in 2024, Univa was created to address one of the most pressing challenges in modern healthcare – the profound and often life-threatening impact of eating disorders on individuals and families. Our mission is to sustainably reduce the morbidity and mortality rates of eating disorders worldwide, transforming how care is accessed, delivered, and measured.

Our vision is to build and validate the world’s most outcome-focused, clinically robust digital care platform for eating disorders . A platform that empowers health systems and clinicians to deliver the highest standard of care efficiently and compassionately.

Eating disorders affect tens of millions of people worldwide. Hospital admissions have surged dramatically over the past five years, yet most services remain overstretched, under-resourced, and difficult to access. Clinicians everywhere are working tirelessly within systems that make it harder than it should be to provide the quality of care their patients deserve.

Univa is changing that.

We’re driven by a belief that the future of eating disorder care is personalised, data-informed, and compassion-centred, and that technology can make that future possible, today.

Our dual-app care platform, uniquely grounded in evidence-based principles such as Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (FT-AN) and the New Maudsley Model, combines clinical science, behavioural data, and digital innovation to extend the reach of evidence-based treatment. We’re working closely with the NHS, leading universities, and specialist charities to co-design digital tools that support both patients and carers, helping clinicians monitor progress, identify early signs of relapse, and sustain recovery between sessions.

Our founders, Rich Andrews and José Santos, are experienced healthtech leaders who have successfully built and scaled digital mental health services that integrate clinical excellence with human-centred technology. Together, we are creating a new model of care, one that is clinically rigorous, compassionate, and accessible to all.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team of clinicians, researchers, and innovators united by a shared purpose: to reimagine eating disorder care for the next generation. At Univa, your role won’t just change individual lives, it will help shape a scalable care model adopted by healthcare systems around the world.

If you’re a clinician who thrives at the intersection of evidence-based practice, digital transformation, and human connection, we’d love to hear from you. Join us and be part of a mission to make exceptional eating disorder care accessible to anyone, anywhere.

This hands-on clinical work ensures continuous learning, enabling you to gather real-world insights that directly inform ongoing product development and platform innovation.

  • Collaborate across disciplines – work with leading experts in psychology, psychiatry, dietetics, product design, AI, and behavioural science to ensure Univa’s solutions reflect the latest clinical evidence and user-centred design principles.
  • Ensure governance and safety – uphold professional, ethical, and safeguarding standards; maintain accurate documentation; and support robust clinical governance processes that align with regulatory and data-protection requirements.
  • Champion research and evaluation – contribute to clinical studies, pilots, and service-evaluation projects that evidence the safety, effectiveness, and scalability of Univa’s model across different healthcare systems.
